A child’s smile is priceless, and as children’s dentists, we ensure your child’s smile stays bright and strong. We are your allies and are pleased to provide friendly dental care that meets your child’s unique dental needs and creates a foundation for a healthy future. Dr. Michael Chandler is a caring, compassionate, and gentle dentist who enjoys helping kids attain their best smiles. Here are some of the most common dental procedures we offer at Edmond Dental Center.

1. Cleanings and Preventive Care

Routine checkups and cleanings are essential for maintaining the health of your child’s teeth and gums. These checkups allow us to look at your child’s smile, identify potential areas of concern, and provide professional dental cleanings. We also review dental hygiene skills and techniques and provide patient education to kids and parents.

2. Fluoride Treatment

Fluoride is a naturally-occurring mineral that protects little chompers against cavities and strengthens enamel. Kids who use fluoride toothpaste, drink water with fluoride and get fluoride treatments are more likely to avoid cavities than those who don’t. Remember to speak with your child’s dentist about the appropriate amount of fluoride to use. Growing teeth can become damaged from too much fluoride exposure, but Dr. Chandler can advise you on the best dental hygiene practices to do at home.

3. Dental Sealants

Dental sealants are another way to fight tooth decay. Sealants are like little raincoats we put on teeth to protect them from cavity-causing bacteria. First, we clean and dry the tooth, and then we paint the sealant on the tooth with a tiny brush to seal out harmful bacteria that lead to tooth decay.

4. Mouth Guards

Mouth guards are designed to protect your child’s smile from sports injuries and accidents. While wearing a mouth guard, your child can avoid lip, tongue, cheek, gum, and tooth injuries––and the potential for a painful experience. However, if your child has a dental emergency, you can call us, and we’ll get them in to see Dr. Chandler right away. Our dental office is highly trained and equipped to deal with dental emergencies kids often experience.
