Dental implants in Edmond, OK, are ideal for replacing a lost or compromised tooth, restoring function to your bite, and aesthetics to your smile. At Edmond Dental Center, patient comfort is our top priority. Dr. Michael Chandler offers several types of dental sedation to ensure you feel comfortable and at ease during your dental implant procedure.
Here's what you should know about your dental sedation options.
Nitrous Oxide
Nitrous oxide, also called laughing gas, is the lightest level of sedation we offer at Edmond Dental Center. We deliver the calming gas through a mask worn during your dental procedure. Nitrous works to quickly help you feel relaxed throughout your procedure without leaving you with lingering side effects.
You'll be able to safely drive home and continue your normal daily activities after a dental procedure with nitrous oxide.
Oral Sedation
Medication that you take orally one hour before your procedure provides a deeper level of sedation. Many patients feel like they're sleeping yet are still conscious and responsive to Dr. Chandler. Due to the amnesic effect of the medication, most patients have little to no memory of their procedure.
Oral sedation requires patients to arrange transportation to and from their appointments.
IV Sedation
IV sedation is the deepest level of sedation we offer that is delivered intravenously. Dr. Chandler will monitor your heart rate and vital signs throughout your procedure, and he can adjust the medication as needed to keep you comfortable.
