Dental sedation is a service we offer at Edmond Dental Center. While you don't have to choose it, many patients do elect to use sedation for a procedure like dental implant placement surgery because it ensures their comfort.
Dental Sedation at Edmond Dental Center
Dr. Chandler offers three levels of dental sedation to meet each patient's unique needs.
- Nitrous Oxide — The mildest form of sedation we offer. It is a breathable gas delivered through an inhalation mask worn during your procedure. It doesn't leave lingering side effects, and patients can return to their normal daily activities after treatment with nitrous oxide.
- Oral Sedation — This is sedation delivered through prescription medication taken an hour before the procedure. The medication has a calming amnesic effect, so you feel relaxed during your treatment, almost as if you were sleeping, and have little to no memory of it afterward.
- IV Sedation — This is the most relaxing sedation option we offer because you'll feel as if you're sleeping, yet still be responsive during your treatment.
Patients need to arrange transportation to and from their appointments for IV or oral sedation, as they can't safely drive afterward.
